Knowing the square of the wire, calculate the radius of the wire by using the formula for calculate circular area
Conductor size(sq mm)=pi(3.14)X Radius squared
Knowing the square of the wire, it is the same way to calculate the wire diameter
For example: diameter for 2.5mm2: 2.5÷ 3.14 = 0.8, than extraction of square root, value is 0.9mm, so diameter for 2.5mm2 wire is 2X0.9MM=1.8MM
Knowing the diameter of the wire, calculating the square of the wire is also by using the formula for calculate circular area:
Square of wire = pi (3.14) x square of wire diameter/4
Multi-stranded wire is the sum of the cross-sectional area of each wire.
Formula for cross section area:
0.7854 × square radius of wire (mm) × number of strands
For example: 48 strands (each strand wire radius is 0.2 mm) ,1.5mm2= 0.7854 × (0.2 × 0.2) × 48 = 1.5mm2
